Basic EMDR training teaches you how to administer the model safely. With experience, another question begins to matter: how much of what is happening during the session are you actually seeing?
A word. A breath. A movement. A hesitation. The client is constantly revealing information about where the process is going and what may be getting in its way. Advanced EMDR training develops the therapist’s ability to recognize those details, understand what they mean, and respond without interfering with the self-healing process already at work.
This is where FLOW becomes essential. The therapist learns to recognize what creates it, what interrupts it, and how to maintain it throughout the session.
